Academia - Teaching and Research
This area of pharmacy involves teaching, research, public service, and patient care.  Pharmacists in academia can
serve in disciplines such as administration, biological sciences and continuing education.

Most pharmacists enter into faculty positions after completing a fellowship or residency.  Another way for
pharmacists to enter into academia is to serve as an adjunct faculty member.  Pharmacy preceptors, on-the-job
mentors for pharmacy students, are often given the title of adjunct faculty member.
